Post Accident

Contributed by travisk on Monday, 8th November 2004 @ 10:25:34 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

My mind, it seems to lack its luster
Though my memory was never great
And those past thoughts I cannot muster
Force my speaking voice to hesitate

Suppressed now are my political dreams
As I see my body failing
Doomed to fail, or so it seems
For my mind will not stop ailing

Yet still her voice and face are there
Well-pronounced inside my head
Haunting constantly without a care
And weighing on me like lead

I can't even remember when I last slept
Or the last time I genuinely smiled
Taking every last one of the pills I kept
In death I will be reconciled

Even though you start out hopeless as I kept reading the poem I also heard hope.

Good Luck and Good Write!
