False Joy

Grief
|
For a while I was happy,
I could truely claim to be,
and now the act is back on,
though i hope no one will see.
Still, there are occasionally moments,
when my grin is not forced,
but they are far too few and scattered,
and quickly fade back to self remorse.

"Smile though your heart is breaking....." as the song goes. This could well be the mantra for many of us.
Your lyrics, phrasing & meter allowed for a very smooth read & pronounced theme. Very well done.
Thank you. |
