*A crazed mind wanders through the depths of its captivity
clawing at brain bone and flesh to erupt out of the cage
consumed with visions of sins and sinners alike
gnawing frantically to break free to a new life*
The girl sits solemnly scratching at her skin
tearing it deeper and digging dirty nails in
but feels no pain or sees not her deed
her mind has overtaken and wants her to bleed
A tormenter taunts and sneers at her inside
a poison has slithered from her heart to her mind
like a carcas rotting away on the road
the buzzards feed on her mutilated soul
Shhhh quiet, hush little girl
even a single grain of sand can make a pearl
but dunes and beaches and oceans deep
fill her with more than even any clam can keep
so she seals herslef shut like a burial tomb
locks herslef away in her dismal bedroom
never go outside to collect more sand
you are no princess, trust no man.

I like it..I don't know why I like it exactly..the part about the grain of sand and the pearl..the oyster is actually vomiting when it makes the pearl you know?.. I wonder how many rich people know they're wearing a string of vomit..lol? |

This may be an odd thing to say, but this is a
beautiful poem. Frantic and disturbing, yet
poetically brilliant. Every line was so... full. An
all around great poem.

I liked this. It had a very unusual flow, but a flow none the less.
It's always nice to come across something that little but different and this did oit for me. An excellent piece of writing !

It's cool stuff.
Reminds me of what Sylvia Plath
might be like if she weren't so
crazy--
uh, I mean "challenging".
