Why?

Contributed by JustPlainMe on Wednesday, 20th November 2002 @ 04:00:00 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Peddles fall from the rose like rain pouring down,
once filled with the bright red of passion,
now has dulled and browned.

The peddles hit the ground one after another,
no sound is heard, silent like your love for me,
I can see it now, the pain is due any minuet now.

You haven't said a word but I hear it so clearly
you dont have the love,
that once gleamed so deeply in your eyes

My heart is bleeding through my eyes,
these tiny drops of clear blood,
as your love for me dies.

Ive betrayed a brother, just to have your love,
just to kiss your soft lips,
I betrayed my own blood.

But now its clear your about to say it,
im already crying,
I dont think I can take it.

You tell me you dont love me,
You tell me that its through,
but you dont tell me, why I still love you.

Very tender and the best written of it's type I have read.
Looking from the other side of the fence and many years on I realise how badly I treated so many tender souls but that is what so many young men are like..
Pick yourself up and start to walk on. The first few steps are the hardest but the pain gets less. It never quite disappears altogether but that is part of life. The older you get the more you carry. The more you CAN carry.
One day it may happen again but your experience may help you to nurture it and make it grow.
I.ve been married almost fifty years now and If you think it's going to be all "plain sailing" you're a fool. There have been storms, we've been wrecked, but its not been the origional "ship"
(our young passion) that has carried us through but the repairs, the rebuilds and the experience.
