The silence and the stillness of the morning,
is covered by the blaring rock playing from the headphones in my ears,
i drag my feet across the turf,
i hang my head as i trudge onward,
on my way to start my day.
My backback sagging heavily,
as i walk alone through the field,
above on the horizon the building rises in the sun,
the place that holds us like a prison,
yet on our will we stay.
Then from all sides, in front, in back,
my fellow students can be seen,
all walking just like me,
prepared to build their minds,
searching for their destiny.
The wind blows softly,
spurring us forth,
we, emotionless in the dawn,
know we have no choice but to go,
yet we face this understanding,
as if being forced onward like a pawn.
When i enter that gate I'm no longer me,
instead i'm part of a society,
like lemmings we march unto our doom,
i know the day will start again soon,
with the ringing of that infernal bell,
the once empty halls with people will swell,
and as soon as it's finished,
it'll start anew,
the next morning, i'll be back,
and there's nothing i can do.
