Alone

Contributed by llamaluver on Saturday, 6th November 2004 @ 01:37:31 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Like a gypsy
I wander all the time
Alone
Just trying to find a friend
A person who accepts me
Just trying to find a home
A place where I fit in

I see the people around me
They seem so happy
Together
But
I am the outcast
I am the loner

Just when
I think I've found someone
They leave me
For the others

I think it is my destiny
To cry myself to sleep
Because I am
Alone

I truly appreciate this poem.
Poe's Alone has always
really resonated with me.

The sadness in my Poetic Avenger
series was really influenced by
these types of feelings,
which only got reenforced when
I confronted the world and my life.

Also, today I was listening
to "I Just wasn't Made for these Times"
by the Beach boys:
I keep looking for a place to fit in
Where I can speak my mind
And I've been trying hard to find the people
That I won't leave behind

And it's not just self-defeating
sentiments. Life does not
evenly dole out friendship
and acceptance.
