I stand outside in the rain
My dark hair plastered to my head
The raindrops
They mingle with my tears
I cry because
Earlier that morning
I told him it was over
This abuse had to stop
And he just looked at me
With his bright green eyes
That were filled with false tears
And said
"But I love you"
At that I almost gave in
But then I saw his fist
And I knew not to take it anymore
So I ran
Now I am in the rain
Letting the cool fresh drops
Rinse my love for him
And my pain
Away

Good for you for being strong & doing what's right. It takes a lot to stand up to someone like that. Great write!
