The Miracle Of Children

The Miracle Of Children
~~~~
Last night at about a quarter to ten
You crawled back on my lap again
Laid your head on my chest
Closed your eyes and tried to rest
I just sat there and looked at your face
And rested my hand on your waist
This precious child on my lap
Drifted off into a peaceful nap
It’s these quiet moments that mean so much
To my loving heart it always touch
Gently I carry him off to bed
On his favorite pillow I lay his head
I crawl in beside him for a just a little while
While sporting the biggest smile
I thank God for moments like this
As I give is forehead a kiss
He’s the best thing that ever happen to me
How he opened my heart so easily
I pray that I never lose sight
Of the miracle I feel tonight
Goodnight son, your daddy loves you
Never had a word spoken been more true
I turn off the light and to my room I head
But my heart still lies with you on the bed
