Don't cry for me when I am gone
For I'll be in a happy place
Please don't hurry to get to me
Because I'm not ready to see your face
I'm sorry it had to go this way
I never wanted it to
But there wasn't a single way to do it
Without hurting you
I thought so long and hard
About how to justify this to you
I just couldn't do it
The words. . . there are so few.
There are no simple explanations
They would all seem like a lie
So please make a promise
That for me you will not cry.
I am with the angels now
And me they will keep
I will be with you 'til the day after forever
I will watch over you while you sleep.
