February Lovers

Contributed by emodcgirl36 on Friday, 5th November 2004 @ 06:41:04 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

You left without revenge
I left with regret
We never got passed our differences

I liked you and you liked me
We were as happy as happy could be
Then we got risky,
A little too risky
And ended up living the life we disliked

Only the shame kept us together
And without the love it kept us apart.
Tears unshed, love unspoken
February lovers, we were
And March enemies we'd soon be.

I got the gun, you got the bullets
We met out in the woods
I loaded, you shot
Clean as clean could be

February came again
And our lives were pitted against each other
That fateful night forced us to the spot
And we cried silently

February lovers we were
February nightmares was it's outcome
As the last of our future was buried in the ground.
