"Nicodemus said to Him,
"How can a man be born when
he is old? Can he enter a second
time into his mother's womb and
be born?"
Jesus answered, "Most as-
suredly, I say to you, unless one
is born of water and the Spirit, he
cannot enter the Kingdom of
God.
"That which is born of the
flesh is flesh, and that which is
born of the Spirit is spirit.
"Do not marvel that I said to
you, 'You must be born again.'
"The wind blows where it
wishes, and you hear the sound
of it, but cannot tell where it
comes from and where it goes.
So is everyone who is born of the
Spirit.
-John 3:4-8
There was a time
There was a time I spent
There was a time I spent living unclaimed by the Savior
But that time is no longer
Because now
The Holy Spirit is in me
My happiness the devil was stealing
Now I feel Jesus in my Spirit healing
When I did not understand
The Lord helped guide me to His Way
My spirit is living in the Holy Spirit
My faith is in the Messiah
My Lord Jesus is the One who gives living water
"A woman of Samaria came to
draw water. Jesus said to her,
"Give Me a drink."
For His disciples had gone
away into the city to buy food.
Then the woman of Samaria
Said to Him, "How is it that You,
being a Jew, ask a drink from me,
a Samaritan woman?" For Jews
had no dealings with Samari-
tans.
Jesus answered and said to
her, "If you knew the gift of
God, and who it is who says to
you, 'Give Me a drink,' you
would have asked Him, and He
would have given you living wa-
ter."
The woman said to Him, "Sir,
You have nothing to draw with,
and the well is deep. Where then
do You get that living water?
"Are You greater than our
father Jacob, who gave us the
well, and drank from it himself,
as well as his sons and his live-
stock?"
Jesus answered and said to
her, "Whoever drinks of this wa-
ter will thirst again,
"but whoever drinks of the
water that I shall give him will
never thirst. But the water that I
shall give him will become in him
a fountain of water springing up
into everlasting life."
-John 4:7-14
I have drank
From the Fountain of Truth
I have rebuked
The sins of my youth
In Him
I am uplifted
By sin
I am not defeated
Because of the living water that springs forth
I recieve daily, His Love outpours
I am saved by my faith in Jesus and the Grace of my Wondrous Lord
His wisdom amazes and His Love is so soothing
He protects His believers from wolves in sheeps' clothing
Caterpillars who transform
Into beautiful creatures
They used to munch on the leaves
Now they float on by them
Munch, munch, munch
I think they've got a hunch
To make spirits soar
They've got to love, love
Love the Lord more

This is good. The spirit speaks through you by your use of the scriptures. I do not necessarily think that this is a prayer as much as it is an affirmation. You are not talking to God. I liked what you said anyway. Forgive me if I seem critical. You have a good writing style and I do not want to change it.
I wrote a group of songs collectively called "A walk through the gospels" two of the songs in that group: "I hear the voice" and "Everlasting life" are based on the gospels and reflect days of studying the scriptures and crying out to God for wisdom. If you get a chance to read them tell me what you think. |
