Face

Topic: SongLyrics

There is something in the air
I think it is a wooden chair
Will it hit you on the head
Well, I suppose if you are unaware

What do you do
With a worn-out shoe?
Do you throw it away?
Or do you put it on
To wear another day?

Is Knowledge to be
Fed to the needy?
Or do we just continue
To digest the lies of the greedy?

If there is a man
Who really thinks he's someone
One day he will have to face the fact
That the longer you wait the longer you
Will have to run

Face
Face forward
Will you face yourself
Or find yourself backed into a corner?

Face
Face the firing squad
When they take away your face
What else have you got?

Face
Face the forces so dark and unclean
Tonight Lord Jesus will fight the devil with His Light
By Grace we will be saved for in Lord Jesus we believe

Good poem.

This is my third time trying to write this comment to you about heart. The words you have written are true but they lack heart. What I mean is this: while God expressed the fact of judgement he also expressed that he loved people and did not want them to perish. God cried, he reached out for a people that would ultimately kill him and mock his name, yet he continued to have mercy and give hope. God did this by showing his humanity. He was vulnerable he wept for the wicked that perished. Compare the heart of this poem with the poem "On the shore of the ocean" and you will see why I have left such a long comment.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
