Bush & Kerry ~ Election 2004

Contributed by tifrob on Thursday, 4th November 2004 @ 07:57:47 PM in AEST
Topic: news

~ BEFORE ~

Fear is it real or is it perceived?
Kerry says, America’s deceived,
Bush is sure that the threat is real,
Voters spout both men’s spiel,
On 9/11 ~ Thousand’s died that day,
World wide trust has since decayed,
So, now the question is who should lead?
A man of strength ~ It is agreed.
Strength is where the country is torn,
America is a nation forlorn,
Kerry sells himself, as a man of men,
Always stating, that all can trust him,
Even though his record is questioned,
He’s convinced he knows the direction,
Bush repeats what he believes,
Terrorism hidden is a nation deceived,
America must go where the terrorists live,
To fight them there ~ A strategic motive.

~ DURING ~

Election Day ~ November 2, 2004,
Long lines formed at voting doors,
People came and stood in these lines,
Waiting to vote their hearts and minds,
They had listened and they had heard,
And as voters, they’d have the last word,
Democracy is alive and proud,
As voters stood ~ Their presence avowed,
Two men have battled ~ Fought tooth and nail,
To win the great office ~ Only one would prevail,
An empty white map outlined in gray,
Bush and Kerry ~ Who’d carry the day?
As red and blue states color the map,
Americans watch as the news unwraps,
Indiana and Kentucky start the night,
Giving Bush the first color on sight,
Nights are long and counting takes time,
Electoral votes is a candidate’s dime,
State’s tick off as the night wanes,
Red and blue states dot the plains,
Bush and Kerry in a dead heat,
Either of these men could find defeat,
The hour is late and counting has slowed,
As all eyes turn to the state of Ohio,
The map is filling blue and red,
News anchors reviewing everything said,
Ohio goes to Bush ~ Alaska does too,
As for electoral votes only one is now due,
Wait hold on ~ There is a dispute!
For Kerry, the numbers just don’t compute,
So, the race is still a race,
Democracy a working grace,
A stand-off is now at hand,
Ohio is his, Kerry demands,
The election has stalled,
With five states not called,
Waiting for Kerry to find out the truth,
If Ohio is Bush’s ~ Then did he just lose?
Hours and hours tick-tock away,
Before Kerry decided, he had something to say,
Fate had stepped in and he must concede,
He called the President ~ Gracious indeed,
Kerry and Bush both very kind,
As they hung-up ~ The election behind,
America heaved a sigh of relief,
One man victorious ~ One man in grief,
Kerry will now speak of his loss,
Bush will accept and pick-up his cross,
The voters have voted ~ Spoken their voice,
The election is over ~ Known is their choice,
They have chosen to feel secure and protected,
By the same President that they reelected.

~ AFTER ~

Kerry conceded with heartfelt words,
He stood proud and everyone heard,
He choked up as his words came out,
One thing for sure, he left no doubt,
He loved his country so very much,
He and America had both been touched.
~~~
Bush accepted, smiling with pride,
This time he won ~ It can’t be denied,
He spoke to Kerry of the Champaign,
A major contender no need for shame,
He talked of his vision for the next four years,
While flags waved and everyone cheered,
Then Bush turned to his serious side,
Reiterating that terrorism still can’t hide,
God Bless America ~ His Wonderful Home,
In this thought ~ He was not alone.
***God Bless America & President Bush***
Like last time ,
Bush pushed his smug smile.
Re-elected, infected and infantile.
God bless The US and all that is vile.
Now leave us alone for at least a while.
Not you. Bush that is. Liked your rhythm and style. Just don't feel your sentiment.
I thought this was a pretty sweet write. I mean the election was just 2 days ago and to write somthing this great in such a short time is sweet. I don't know if this was a political write but if it is then its the best I've ever read. Truely the better man did win, we need morals and honesty in the White House. John Kerry can't lead the greatest nation in the world with indesicion on every issue.
