Off to see the wiz

Topic: MiscPoems

Follow me down the yellow brick road
We will sing and dance while looking for Oz.
We do not have a cowardly lion
Or a tin woodsmen
Or even a stupid little dog from Kansas. .

I know we might not be able to carry a note
Or do a dance number on the spot.
So maybe we are not cute like a scarecrow
But we have needs just like them.
And we have our own kind of good witch
And our bad witch of shorts.

So let us follow this yellow brick road
And find the Land of Oz
Let us go off to see the wizard
Since there is nothing good on TV.

But I am not wishing to go home
And I know you do not need a heart of a brain
And you are full up on courage.
So I guess we will have to write our own story
About going to see the wiz, the magical wiz.
We can think up wishing that we could wish.
However, really, I just want to see that cool floating head.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
