A Mouse on the London Underground

Contributed by Eastway on Tuesday, 19th November 2002 @ 06:30:00 AM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

I can see the hairs up their noses,
The price of their shoes,
Gargantuan poses,
Whizzing around in non-sensical hurrying,
In compliment to my clandestine scurrying,
They wonder why we suddenly bolt,
When the train rolls in with its 10,000 volts,
From Liverpool Street to Hammersmith,
The mouse and commuter we co-exist,
Pre-theatre snacks engaged in at seven,
Mean left over scaps and manna from heaven,
But spare a kind thought for my family and me,
And remind your friends there’s a matinee at three!

I like to read things about England. I'm from America and it's like visiting your country first hand when I read this kind of poetry. I've never been to England but would like to travel there someday.

Ramfire
