Shot Down Again

Another day filled with anxiety,
Unaware of the torment I will soon feel.
Approaching the girl I find so dandy,
But when she say’s “No,” it seems so unreal.
And there I am left standing,
Disbelieving, I’ve been shot down again.

I walk away with my head hanging low,
And still not sure what I’ve done wrong,
I try my best and act like myself,
But it seems to me that here I don’t belong.
And there I am left standing,
Disbelieving, I’ve been shot down again.

I swear to myself I will continue to try,
But my mind tells me to stop.
I want to spare the pain on my life I apply,
However, I am stubborn and of course I will not.
And there I am left standing,
Disbelieving, I’ve been shot down again.

A month has passed, it seems more like a year,
But now another girl I fancy comes to me.
To me she say’s, “at my door I wish you would appear,”
And to her my love I am still give.
And there I am left standing,
Disbelieving, I won’t be shot down again.
