Masks

Contributed by lil_angel on Tuesday, 19th November 2002 @ 03:40:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

The walls high again
no longer down for all to see
I take out the masks (for I never did throw them away)
I dust them off
They still fit
I just have to get used to them again
This time I will not get them taken away
They are mine
mine to use
mine to have always
Happiness always
sadness is gone forever
I have one question that I hope people will answer
What about my eyes?

Your eyes? Well in my opinion
as i wear my mask each and every
moment im alive, i do beleive that
a blind man's foolish eyes will only
see what he wants to see, it will
take a special person to see through
those walls that are built which can
be seen clearly through your eyes,
but if that wall is so thick it cannot
be torn down then they will carry
on blind as fools, and think nothing
more of how you feel. It's all in how
much each person wants to really
look deep inside at someone. For my
mask that i wear is closed eternally!
Beautiful write, i really enjoyed reading
this one it took me to a place i love to be

Your eyes? They're the windows of the soul - and some people with the perception, can see through them, to the reality behind.
Good, thought provoking poem.
