IF BUSH HAS TRULY WON

White House claims Bush victory

President George W Bush has convincingly won the US election, the White House has said.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/3976843.stm

--O//--

It’s a bitter pill to swallow
A bitter one indeed
That we may have to go on
With the blackest seed

It means an even darker world
Two enemies locked as one
Leading ever downward
Will we EVER see the sun?

John Kerry was our true hope
That we could unite again
To once more know true joy
On his sanity depend

Now there may be only more trouble
More bitterness and strife
No closer union with the world
Just more loss of life

This I believe may be the bitterest pill
The American people ever took
Rejecting a path to honour
Closing a chapter of the book

So, it’s almost over.
What's to happen now?
What hope lies ahead?
If this leader's at the prow?

Might we have at long last
A change in this man’s heart?
To begin working WITH the world
Not tearing it apart?

To link ALL of the people
Instead of just a few?
Uniting the nation with one heart
Is this POSSIBLE for him to do?

If so he’ll need to listen
And to decent law obey
To lay down the ways of arrogance
Demanding his own way

He must take a more intelligent path
No longer just the bull
Connecting in truth, in honesty
No longer act the fool

Only then will he achieve respect
And trust so vital in this day
To form alliances that TRULY protect
Rise up from feet of clay

I wonder, can he do it?
If a winner, he needs the chance to try
I hope he doesn’t waste it
And in the face of wisdom fly

May your God give him understanding
That there is not just one SIMPLE way
That he must look beyond himself
And to the world this day

The world fears America
And the man who heads it so
It fears for its future
Where arrogance does grow

It fears a man small-minded
Who seems determined just to strike
At all the hope they hold dear
To do just what he’d like

That makes a worry
It gnaws now at the heart
What new callous behaviour
Will he then begin to start?

What new abuse?
What wild and ruthless killing?
What kind of incompetence?
Is he capable and more than willing?

These fears echo round
And round and round the world
As we see all hope come to nothing
In fear and anxiety curled

There remains just one glimmer
One light in the growing dark
That Bush may yet come to his senses
And make a BETTER mark

The war that he started
Seems destined to go on
How many more will be lost?
Dear daughters and dear son?

But there is one tiny light
In which we all must hope
That steadier voices
Will provide wisdom now to cope

Could lessons have been learnt?
Have they seen clearly how they failed?
Could it they’ll avoid these in future
Where the world would be derailed?

If Bush has truly won
There is little hope for change
No fresh start for the world
A chance to rearrange

Right now there will be only dismay
But to this one crumb we'll look
That the disaster of Iraq
Will bring some minds to book

That even Bush will surely see
Just how badly it all went wrong
That nothing like it can be done again
And to start a wiser song

The words of this wiser song
Sing of connection and not of hate
Of all working together
Not one outside the gate

Inclusion of statesmanship
Of nobility to meet half way
To reach out and truly touch
Each and every working day

No more ego-based arrogance
No more economy with the truth
A better message and a higher path
A REAL inspiration to our youth

Not to see through blood-red eyes
Not to inspire an ugly hate
Not to blind the face of justice
And leave others to their fate

In this time of darkness
It’s not MORE darkness that we need
Reign in the ugly dogs of war
And the rhetoric on which they feed

Draw America TOGETHER
Reach out to the other half
Don’t continue destructive policy
Or at decent people laugh

Recognise that your leadership
Has no UNIVERSAL appeal
Don’t narrowly talk for just one side
Begin to THINK and FEEL

For ALL the people who still hope
For a return to a better day
This is the challenge that lies ahead
Rise ABOVE the darker way

That is so true, so long too lolz...
Took me like 5 minutes to read *faints*
Love it though, I've always wanted to write something about this, after reading this, I totally give up, I'm nothing to compare.

John (fcking Coward) Howard won the elections again here in AU as well if anybody's heard, it sucks....
The idiot is Bush's puppet, they'll never leave power.. Teh world is officially doomed -_-;;

Again, awesome.. 5 stars ;)

Cheers,

I feel the inevitability, yet I don't know who's secured Ohio.

Its like the feeling I had outside the Labour Party's Conference at the SECC when they were talking about war in Iraq ...

Great write, Steel, although I'm watching the final Power Of Nightmares tonight to confirm this feeling. It should be riveting, if desponding stuff.

If he has truly won, it is because Americans have chosen a president who thinks and believes as they do and stands behind those beliefs rather than one who claims to be one thing and does another. The evangelical Christians of this country have been mobilized to bring it back to the princples upon which it was founded.
Oh, it was nice to see that you wrote a poem this time.

Fear not Steel.

There are still millions of people who are willing to stand against the lies and fear that Bush has managed to fool the people(again) with.

And I'm one of them.
