Lifepoems

They prime their young,
impregnate them with team spirit
and leave growing inside them
a pride and power that,
for years, is beyond their sight.
They equip them with the potent
“I am a girl.”
written in sidewalk chalk
by a cold, militant -----
who will not go gentle
into that good night,
who dares challenge
the male dominance of this world,
and whose cocky, ballsy attitude
forces upon us a statement
with infallible logic
and undeniable truth.
You who are girls,
you prime them young
to wield a power
that will win wars.
