A chance I thought
Of having it all
Why I couldn't see
That it wasn't meant to be
I'll never know
Your smile
Your elegance
Bound me in your charm
Then like prey
My heart you did slay
All while meaning no harm
My hopes rose then crashed like the ebb tide
And flowed back into the sea of sorrow
Consumed by pain
A season of rain
After the storm
A new flower will be born
For the next girl to pick
