The Woman In Me-Poetic Mystery

Contributed by PoeticMystery on Sunday, 31st October 2004 @ 12:27:42 AM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

Who is this young woman inside of me?
Her words speak of immortality.
Written on the outside
Waiting for her two worlds to collide

Inside she dreams of elegance and purity
Of classical rhythms and artistic ability
Living a life so jazz and free
Completely opposite of the world she sees

Dreams of a man
That takes her by the hand
Touches her heart, mind, and soul
Such a love that is uncontrolled

By mortality and transient existence
This woman inside has such resistance
To the standards of her peers
Too much crying, so many fears

If only I could be me
The woman inside, the poetic mystery
This would be the life I've created
Such a world undated

City lights that beam down
Capturing romance and love's sound
Who is this woman that's here
Telling this story so genuine and clear

A small town girl with growing pains
But a woman inside that can explain
Why her current life is not her destiny
One day she'll grow to become the woman in me.
