L:ike A Candle

"Like A candle"

Like burnt wax on my hands
It burns me to the core
You've left a scar on my soul
Like my love for you
The fire no longer burns
The flame is extinguished
The embers have died down
The ashes are scattered lying cold
Blowing in the wind
Like a candle without a wick...
I'm enveloped in darkness

The wounds lye open
My heart is broken & bleeding
You've...
Ripped...
Raped...
Pulled...
&
Stabbed...
All the life out of me
I won't ever be the same again
What did you expect from me?
Unconditional love?
Undying friend ship?
Everlasting trust?
I won't grant your wish!
I won't listen to your commands
Like a candle without a wick...
I'm enveloped in darkness.

I can't be your lover
Being your friend was a mistake enough
You made a mockery out of our life
You laughed ...
Too loud...
I cried
Too hard...
You re not worth the tears of shame I cry
Like a candle without a wick...
I'm enveloped in darkness.

If only you could see my face
To look into my eyes
To see...
The pain...
The anger...
The shame...
The regret...
The remorse...
The hatred...
Like a candle without a wick...
I'm enveloped in darkness...

Do you sleep at night?
Do you hear my screams?
Do you even care?
How can you live with yourselves?
Like a candle with out a wick...
I'm enveloped in darkness.

Where was your better judgement?
Where was your common sense?
Where was your brain?
What did I ever do to you?
Oh...
The resentments...
The nightmares...
All caused by you
Like a candle without a wick...
I'm enveloped in darkness...

Keep writing it out, Blu. Write it out over and over and over until you can soar like an eagle over it and devour it. Write out the pain, the hurt, the terror, the shame, the guilt (which by the way is not yours to carry but his). Write it out in searing scathing words. Just write, my sister, just write.

Many hugs,
Rita

i think youve gotten really good since i last read your poetry. which was a few months maybe? youve progressed far, youve improved so much. your poetry is something to be proud of. not many can come as far as you, and youve come so far in such a short amount of time.

in your poem there was a part in it that stuck out to me for the pure creativity in it.
