I am not as I appear,
Is anything ever what it seems?
Do you know what is inside?
Have you the key?
To this mystery?
Critics break your heart,
But your spirit flies,
Have you thought of the truth,
Or the impression that lies?
Hating yourself is not the answer,
People who can't understand,
Are the painful cancer
Suicide is an option,
Easy as it may portray,
Gay marriages are they,
Really the answer?
Ask yourself if these,
Would heal your broken heart,
One gives up your means,
The other your dreams,
Have we a choice?
A chance?
To change the world?
If patience is a virtue,
Then is politeness a gift?
Harsh words shouldn't break,
A heart as solid, patient
Give time to the ignorant,
Pity to the arrogant,
Love to the enemy,
And light to your eyes,
Do you see?
Do you know what is inside?
Have you the key?
To this mystery?
This cancer of the heart?
NB: The main 'cancer of the heart' is depression.
