Living in darker shades

Contributed by lostinmyself on Friday, 29th October 2004 @ 12:19:07 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

I feel trapped,
In a world of blacks, whites and greys,
A world which should be filled with brighter hues,
Unlike the snow-like static which clouds the days,
Like on an unused television screen,
Playing the same soundless haze over and over again...

(I'm smothered in blacks, whites and greys...
In a place that now always seems the same....)

And I feel trapped
In this place, a place where my dreams die,
Not a home where dreams are discovered,
Where they should come alive.
Here is a place smothered in lies,
And the coloured days are just a disguise...

(Giving way to blacks, whites, and greys...
The beauty is stripped away before my eyes...)

And I don't want to be trapped,
And I don't want to be stuck this way,
I want the colours to come back to the surface,
I want to stop living darker nights each day,
I want, I need to leave this place...

(Living blacks whites and greys...
I'm Living in darker shades...)

(Can I push these shadows away?)

Where is home?
Will I find it one day?

*hands Phil a rainbow* 0:-)
Take these colors to brighten your day,
Through each new hue you'll find your way.
With ever beam of light you'll find,
A place called home within your mind!

Darker hues are often found through struggles my dear friend, and only when we encounter one small seed of hope, can we find a place to call home. My blessings go out to you, so you may find, a RAINBOW of love!!!
Lots of love and hugs to you!!!!
This poem was awe inspiring!!! I love it!!!
Angel always...Joni

*enormous sigh*

Ohhhhh Philly! This is powerfully sad... dramatic in its expression of simple despair. How I wish it were not true. It's a beautiful write, hunni --- but... no friend of yours, self included, will enjoy this piece. (I think you'll know what I mean by that)

Now... to lighten things up a bit (because boy! do they need lightening)... I tell you this little something and hope it brings a smile to your face. The first stanza, Philly - reminded me of the TV in the NYC apartment... that is, before we plugged in plugs, pushed who knows how many buttons, clicked away with those three remotes, changed channels, and let go a few choice words that is. LOL! Remember Phil? *sigh* All that hard work and we barely looked at the thing anyway.

My point, sweetie --- hold on to memories of good times until you find yourself in the next good time. Sometimes, truly, it's enough.

Incredible write... but gosh, I hated reading it.

It's a time of struggling for you. We all do it. We're all looking for the place we feel we belong. The important thing is not to stop looking...for only in searching will you find. The answer may be in a place or it may be inside you. Either way, the only way to not find it is to stop searching.
Stitch
(Oh, and this is one of your VERY best!)

If only it was as easy as slapping some colourful paint on the walls huh? You're an amazing poet and I am left in awe at what I have read of your work so far, this is no exceptions. Very well written with an oddly fitting picture.

Take Care

since i liked the piece so much the first time, i wanted to read it again. =] it seems that my love for it has only increased. i still rather like the repetition of this. it is not overdone, the repetition actually works for this piece. most poets have not mastered the use of it, and its good to finally see one that has.
