Fairy Tale Me

Contributed by Rxqueen on Friday, 29th October 2004 @ 08:06:12 AM in AEST
Topic: psychoticpoems

You come to me with riddles and rymes of times we were never alive
we reminisce and try to feel the days that really were never real
a dream an illusing a time of distortion
mindless, incoherent, obsessive, absolete
we say things like remeber when, but I cannot remeber the days I wish to forget
take me to another land, one of mystery and lies
that is where I want to live, not in my life of lives
tales are all you speak to me, tales of untrue happenings
I never did that, i never said that, you are misunderstood
the past is not reality, just a pretend existance
how do we really know we were alive all those years?
Memories, photographs, writing on the wall...
but can those images and materials not be forged?
Could I have been born just yesterday, just an hour ago, right this second?
could these things have not been planted here for me to think I remember?
Maybe you are in on it...
maybe you planned it from the start
you sneaky man of mystery, how can I trust this?
You could have made my face and picked my body, created my mind an inserted a soul
What you wanted to the tee, is it true, did you make me?
Did you think of all the stories to upload in my brain
of times i did this and that and this and the other and oh yeah that time...
you are a tricky one.
You have erased my power to know the truth, so I will have to settle for your fairy tale me.

Really good perspective you have presented here, I liked it because that’s what we all want to know whether we truly did exist in past times or not; the thought that one’s existence is virtually based on another’s memory is too….fragile. Who knows? Maybe we are all one another’s fairytale.
