Red-orange flames reflect from blank dull eyes
Stained midnight black by years of shadow
Spent waiting on the musing moon to free
Their malevolent wrath upon the night.
Impish laughter growls on the unforgiving wind
Like a thousand hungry wolves thriving
On the screams of empty childhood fears
Where blood flows like a river to a sea of death.
Faceless heads with pale curling horns
Sit sternly on rigid bodies made strong
Toiling in endless pits on the edge of dreams
Digging the graves of silent memories.
Cream colored maggots squirm in tongueless mouths
Filled with jagged teeth eating the gnarled bones
Of lost loved ones whose demented lamentations
Beg for the dawn of wakefulness.
Flitting ghosts and rotting ghouls kneel
To chanting demons who raise their arms
In worship of the lidless eye who rules the mind
And steals the peace of tranquil slumber.
Enter my nightmare,
Unlock the door,
Pray for the sun.
