Just A Simple Life

Contributed by kidpoet_213 on Thursday, 28th October 2004 @ 02:20:58 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

When and how... did my life...
Become so complicated?
When and how... did my life...
Turn this one- eighty?
I don't know...
And I don't seem to care... anymore
'Cause all I long for now... is...
The simple life I left...
Waiting for me at home

Just a simple life
With you waiting there for me
In some tropical paradise...
On a lonesome stretch of beach
Living a simple life... is...
Where I long to be
Now... it where I cling... it's all I want... it's all I need
Just a simple life
For you... for me

If you know me... like you say you do
Then... you know... there's nothing fancy about me
There's nothing to keep me... tied down here
Except someone's harsh words... just to be unkind
And these ugly chains that bind
Otherwise... I've got nothing to show
So won't you please...
Just set me free... let me go

So I can live my life as best I can
Take life one day at a time
Just sit and stare...
Out the window of my life..
Just to clear these haunted thoughts and memories from my mind...
Just to think of a life...
When I was living in a simpler time

Just a simple life
With you waiting there for me
In some tropical paradise...
On a lonesome stretch of beach
Living a simple life... is...
Where I long to be
Now... it where I cling... it's all I want... it's all I need
Just a simple life
For you... for me

Now... I just sit and stare... into the darkness of my mind
Where everything in this screwed up society tries to hide
Where no love can even survive
Where there's no one left to care
Where there's no compassion anymore
Where not a scrap of humanity is left to compare
Just a wasteland of broken dreams and empty schemes
And heartaches are caught... in a web of lies and deceit
This... this has become my reality
All I long for... is...

Just a simple life
With you waiting there for me
In some tropical paradise...
On a lonesome stretch of beach
Living a simple life... is...
Where I long to be
Now... it where I cling... it's all I want... it's all I need...
Just a simple life
For you... for me

Sounds like a nice dream, just lazing on the beach. (Just don't pick the wrong beach.) Nice write!
