Torn

Contributed by dewman on Wednesday, 27th October 2004 @ 11:03:09 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

What keeps me wanting?
Why am I still empty?
She tore me apart
Yet I remain in love

Is it lack of companionship?
Perhaps attraction to control
Memories haunt me
Feelings torment me

Day after day it seems to get easier
Easier to let go
But one sensation or sound
Snatches me backward

Three steps forward
Two steps back
Soon as I get somewhere
I fall to where I was

Wow!
I can so relate to this but it will get easier. I've been there more times than I wonna remember but the last one was the hardest.
I've come to realize over the years that my wants in life have been much different than it has been. Life is full with ups-n-downs but when we yeild to God him and trust him no matter what kindda **** storm we are in.
It's hard but I see mucho wisdom in your words.
Hang in there my new friend, This too soon shall pass.
Looking back at the times God said no 'cause he knows-n-sees all. Every aching moment I'd beg God to bring him back I knew he wouldn't and every time I realized that God had control I thank him from my heart.
Stay strong and keep putting out these masterpeices of wisdom.
Luv, huggs, smiles, faith, hope, joy, peace 2 u,
emy

Emystar is right, it does get easier. It sure doesn't feel like it though, does it? I really liked the last stanza (?), rings so true. Write on and peace to you.

So true. I think heartbreak is the only thing everyone has in common, sometimes, which is why it is so awesome to read a poem like this. You put it in words so well
