Sweltering in the afternoon
She waited with her sunglasses on
Sipping rum and coke
Pretending she was a tourist
Checking her watch too often
Wondering where he was
Yellow banners flutter in the breeze
She looks up to see him
Leaning in the doorway
Silhouetted by the sun
Tableau from a movie
Slow motion
Grainy black and white film
She tips her sunglasses down
To make sure she isn’t dreaming

Ohhhhhh Merry - I like this! Gosh - I can picture this... and oddly, I picture it with me there at the table. Sad thing is... I do think it was just a daydream - for me anyway. I hope... for her it was not.
Lovely!
