See ye the truth of the Lord,
with clarity and great skill,
displayed in Luther's response,
on, " The bondage of the will. "
In reply to one Erasmus;
(of much renown, in his day),
to the fallacy of free will,
which, at the time, held sway.
1Cor.2:14, Rom.3:12
John6:29, Rom.9:16
Dear Luther, that lowly monk,
found through agony and contrition,
the decided inability,
of carnel man's condition.
Rom.8:7, John.5:40
Rom.7:24, 1Cor.4:7
That mighty fortress, our God,
quickened his spirit to life,
and taught him, (as ol' Jonah),
live spirits are born to strife.
Eph.2:1, 1John3:7
1Thess.3:3&4, Rom.8:36
So, he set it down with pen;
free grace, with good measure,
exposing worship of man's will,
which God rules at his own pleasure.
Col.2:23, John15:16
Eph.1:5, Phil.2:13, John6:37
Then bloomed the Reformation;
great light was shed abroad,
and " free will, " that insidious work,
was proved to be a fraud.
John1:13 & 3:19,
Gen.3:5
By his grace,
Lionel

Excellent! I much appreciate this, and I like the way you've appended the verses, which make your point marvellously clear.
Free will, I believe, exists in nothing more than that we, when revealed God's light by He Himself, may accept or reject it. This one choice. But free will has been seized upon as an excuse for the inherent pride of Man, and so is interpreted that we are masters of our own destiny. Freedom is a myth of the mind.
Blessings go with you

A profound work this Lionel, accompanied with the pertinent quotations from St. Paul.
You have amazing knowledge of scripture.
Bless you. I agree with andrews's verse:
Free will, I believe, exists in nothing more than that we, when revealed God's light by He Himself, may accept or reject it. This one choice.
Christ is the truth - and it is solely a matter of either accepting or rejected him.
The free will is all too often exploited to boost the ego.
HE alone is the Truth, the way and the life and the Lord of the Will too.
A profound work Lionel.To be meditated about
Blessings
