Please Don't Cry Alone

Contributed by pixie on Wednesday, 27th October 2004 @ 06:59:10 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Please my love don’t cry alone,
I know your heartaches gone full grown,
But I am here to help to dry your eyes,
I am the only who will comfort your cries.

Let me hold you close to my heart,
Stop you from feeling so torn apart,
To think of you alone & feeling sad,
Makes me hate myself, it makes me mad.

To know that I have done this to you,
It is all my fault that you are feeling blue,
I have never seen you so down before,
I have never seen you lay in a heap on the floor.

I will be strong enough to lift you up,
Fill to the brim your now empty cup,
Never again will you sleep alone in our bed,
I will once again out thoughts of love in your head.

I am hurting to know how you’re feeling,
It is me who has sent your soul reeling,
But I will make it up to you I promise,
So to you my love I’m sending this kiss.

Ouch. This hit me with the full force of that feeling of having hurt someone and not knowing how to fix it. I haven't felt that for a long time, but maybe I should have. Goodness, this was an eye opener for me. Thanks for sharing. I know you and he will work it out.

This is my favorite piece by you so far (though I haven't nearly finished reading all your work yet), there's just something that stirs up all my emotions and makes me want to cry, and at the same time smile through the tears. I don't know why though, but I love it when poems do that to me.
