The rusty knife drops to her bloodied feet.
Her brother...rushes to her side,
as she collapses in a heap in his arms
He screams out for help,
blood streaked across his shirt.
Her pulse has begun to slow,
and her breath is becoming short,
as she gasps for air.
A fight for life,
her wrists... cut open,
blood running over her long fingers,
dripping off their tips,
onto the cold cement floor.
Scarred cuts form patters,
on her tiny body.
Arms, stomach, legs.. a portrait of pain.
Blood slows,
as life starts to slip away... silently.
Voices, faces, chaos,
"NO"... throat dry, tears gone.
No feeling... no caring,
parents screaming,
feelings of regret... taking over her body.
Too late,
blackness running through her veins,
blood from red to black.
Eyes open... eyes closed,
the world spins around her.
The cuts close,
no blood seeps through new bandages,
but she begins to burn.
Eyes.... open,
flames lick at her new white skin,
and darkness is the sky... her new life...
Regret... Retreat.
And then she wakes up,
walks down to the cellar,
and reaches behind a dusty cupboard,
pulling out one rusty blade.
She knows she dreamt... of what?
Her mind is blank,
memories washed away,
thinking only of her "future".
The knife slowly cuts her flesh,
crimson blood spills over her white canvas of skin.
Dreaming of a new beginning,
she notices her brother... in the doorway staring.
He starts to run towards her,
as she finds herself falling.
He screams for help,
as she slips... into her dreams again,
with a smile on her face...

you get to the part wher u find out it was a dream.... n uthink... oh.. don't end this way.... becu its like a circle... it keeps going... but u know betta den dat luvly :-) and finish it wonderfully... i find i get that lil smile everytime i read this n get to the ending... this is very much like a few of mine but not with the dream senario... so it takes me back to the times when we were both in that 'mode'... together... and yet apart..... its nice to share it now when we are together becuz i feel i can understand it more from a newer and fresher view... it takes me bak and makes me appreciate everything so much more but i do get scared from time to time of slipping back... into that time... keep searching for those 'lost' poems or the ones u forget about cuz generally they r the beginning of ur gift... :) xxx
