Wondrous Like Lord Jesus

Contributed by Lee on Tuesday, 26th October 2004 @ 12:35:51 PM in AEST
Topic: spiritual

So you want to be
Someone great
Someone with much
Public esteem
You want to be held with
High regard
Don't jump too high
Because you'll fall as hard

If you want to be
Wondrous
Like Lord Jesus
All you
Have to
Really do
Is have faith
In God's Grace
And follow His Way

The magneficence of His Light
Cannot be duplicated
Wondrous like Lord Jesus
In all the lives He's waited

You wanted to be greater than God
You wanted everyone
To worship your image
But your image
Can hold no truth
Against the Word of God

Your power is useless
Surrounded by the forgiving love
You wanted to prove
That God could fail
But you arn't a failure
You've just strangled yourself
With your decietful tail

How could anyone worship
A being who's chief intent
Is to hate humanity?

You who
Shunned God
And mocked
Jesus our Lord

Why do you think that
Your arrogance could possibly
Withstand His Holy Might?

I think that you've spent
Too much time wandering
In eternal night

God sees an average guy
Who wants to be like
His Son Jesus Christ

But can he overcome his sins
To be a friend to his enemies
And tell others of the Wondrous One
Jesus Christ, the Holy Son

He plays with the thought
Of living sinless and free
And thinks of the Savior's Miracles
He knows that he will never be
Able to do anything like that

Be he can tell others
Of the things he knows
And he can seek Jesus
In His Kingdom reknowned

He can seek
To be
Wondrous
Like Lord Jesus

He seeks his spiritual freedom
Through the Wondrous One
Jesus Christ, the Holy Son
