never far beyond the grasp
of slim fingers of despair
gripping (though she thought it caressing)
massaging scars til they open again
dark eyes that hid a darker soul
dusty windows that shut in a heart
far too dead to scream
(she used to say
"life slips away
on gossamer clouds
of memories
each moment that we live
each tear we shed for love
is just another footstep taken
closer to the grave")
silk wrists kissed by failure
she tried and tried again
then one chill winter evening
as we sat in our secret place
she begged of me a favor
as tears rolled down her face
a tiny dagger from her purse
she placed above her heart
and with eyes that i could ne'er deny
she asked that i rend her apart
sadly, there was no inner struggle
to kill or not to kill
i kissed her once and tried to smile
forever a slave to her will
there was no fighting
my tears of sorrow
as i stabbed her snow white breast
and even if her plea
had not persuaded me
her thankful smile would have done the rest
and when the deed was over
snow streaked in still warm blood
i sat in total disbelief
of that which i had done
and in our secret place she lay
and there i laid with her
praying that the snow would cover my sin
and freeze me with my dear sister

An absolutely chilling write. Well written, incredibly presented... but gosh... I haven't even words enough to comment on this.

wow a haunting write the painful imagery will
stick with me for a while. I just hope you didn't
actually kill her. I don't know what it would be
like to kill my sister, but i am sure your words
conveyed the feeling quite accurately. These
two lines blew me away.
"silk wrists kissed by failure
she tried and tried again"
And even though this does not do it justice
very good poem.

You are f*ckin crazy!
gripping (though she thought it caressing)
massaging scars til they open again
That says it all. The inner turmoil, the self struggle, elequently and originally expressed.
far too dead to scream
don't know what to say. great line.
And I loved the way you expressed your experience, stabbing her....
sadly, there was no inner struggle
to kill or not to kill
You're nuts....great job
Be True,
zenmind
