It halts you in its red fury.
Stops you with a screech.
The power that may bill or fine
The talent hidden- I dare not deny.
As it stands proudly in the corner of one’s eye
Knowing its jurisdiction- affects all in time.
From the ducks to the children
-who dance across its way.
Their tender lives are protected- by its solemn, passion’s gaze.
The purpose in which it was built to maintain- though one thing does cause its faze.
It trickles down as crystal pain
To it- it may not cease its fangs
Its most vicious vice
The torrid and horrid falling angst
For this gallant figure- that saves the day
Subsides only in endless fray
And-Oh, what a shame it ends this lame!
That a stop sign’s glory fails in rustic fame.
