For many years I could not write
Too many things in my life wasn't right
But then one day I met you
My life changed for the better, that's so true
You have been such a great friend to me
When I've needed you most; you've canceled plans for me
Those things I never had to ask of you
When I was down you knew just what to do
When you were needed, you were always there
You helped me with everything, even what color I should dye my hair
You came into my life when I needed a friend
And now because of you, I've started writing again
I'll never be able to express, how grateful I am to you
You have brought back to me, the very thing I love to do
Now because of you once again I'm writing
I'm writing poetry, short stories, a novel everything
Now once again I am happy
And I know all of this sounds kind of sappy
Shadow, I have you to thank for everything
You have brought back to me my writing
I've got you to thank for my new situation
Shadow, you are my inspiration

This is EXCELLENT Candice,
You're both such very lucky people to have each other as friends! Maybe more soon?
Not 'sappy' at all, though it did rhyme. It all flowed really well.

Dean, I think that we are ever lucky to be friends. And I am hoping to be more soon. I really didn't think that it was 'sappy' either but I couldn't think of anything else that would rhyme and really go. I think that is was I meant to say.

Dean, I am glad you like it. He hasn't seen it yet. But I am pretty sure that he will like. He has liked every one poem of my that he has read. He has been very good for my self-esteem.
