Give It All Up

Contributed by iluvpencils on Sunday, 24th October 2004 @ 08:46:31 PM in AEST
Topic: toughstuff

For the first time today,
I wanted to give up
Honestly
Just give it all away
Throw away my dreams
And I didn't regret one thought

I wanted to run away from this confusion
Take back all the tears
I wanted to give up everything
I've never felt this way before
I shivered in my cold,
Not knowing what to do

I was just so sick of losing everything
Being beaten everyday
I feel so hopeless
So abandoned
Nothing seems the same
I'm not as strong as I used to be

Have you ever wanted to just give up?
I'm dying to know if I'm alone
Because I've never felt this way before
It's never even crossed my mind
Can I throw away all my dreams
And move on to something real?

These fleeting thoughts all crossed my mind
But I told no one, I kept it to myself
I know I cannot do that
I know I'll only let you down
So I'll be back in there tomorrow
Sweating through the pain
Thinking these same thoughts
But still chasing my unreachable dream

excellent write. i loved this one. i just wrote a poem about giving up a few minutes ago because i was inspired by another poem posted tonight. it was about how if you gave up because life wasnt good enough and how when you let go, it could be worse than before. sorry if that isnt understandable, i dont think i made much sense to myself either.
