Shattered Mirror

Contributed by CodyJ on Sunday, 24th October 2004 @ 06:17:01 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Low bridge used to take me down
to the street you used to live
at that house, in that town,
you used to be there when I came 'round.
I'd be there for you, if you wanted me to.
If you wanted to, I'd be true,
go to the mall or whatever you wanted,
I'd see you through and comfort you.
Smoke from sticks attatched to your lips
drifts down from your mouth
and goes over your hips
where I'm hanging out looking up at you,
wanting to kiss and grasp those fingertips.
Talk alittle, talk a lot,
call me up and see if Ive got
what it takes to love and leave
if I can go and not grieve over what we had,
good, bad, sweet, sour, happy, dour,
kiss it good bye and good riddance.
Ill watch the stars and pass the time,
in idyllic purpose and meaningless rhyme,
and maybe shed a tear or two,
if I happened to, it's because of you.
