Don't Ask Me

Contributed by outsider on Saturday, 23rd October 2004 @ 11:49:37 PM in AEST
Topic: political

Don't say "save me"
You know I won't be able to
I see your tears your pleading
I know soon you will be bleeding

There's nothing I can do

Don't say "Help me please"
I can do nothing for you
I can see your hands are bound
I see the sword and hear its sound

There's nothing I can say

Don't beg to me while you are on your knees
You put me off my dinner watching the tv
I understand you are in pain today
Isn't that the kind of thing i'm supposed to say

There's nothing i'm prepared to do for you

Dont say "If you do this I will live"
You are just a number and I have nothing to give
I know you are full of fear
But I have to think of my career.

There is absolutely nothing I will do for you.

Unfortuantly I don't think you are very far off. Which really is not good...at all. Good poem, nice way of expressing the truth.

I don't think the politicians are that callous
personally, but there inability to deal with the
situation in Iraq shows they never should've
attacked in the first place. I think many more
people are coming to realize that. By the way
good poem!

This just breaks my heart because it is so true to life .. Unfortunately. Those poor captured people must go through hell, every emotion every fear not to mention the pain and lost. Callous of course they are, do u see their sons and daughters going off to war! I don’t think so. I know Mr. John Howard’s sons aren’t, nor will they! Instead, they went for a visit to the United States visiting the White House. If they gave a ***** peoples lives wouldn’t be wasted, and 2 BILLION DOLLARS wouldn’t be wasted in the USA elections just trying to get votes. Excellent write and well written. ILU
