I looked in the mirror
I saw your face instead of mine
The tear drops became tear streams
Flodding my mind with memories
Memories of times when you and I
Would sit in the yard and reminise
About meaningless things like tomorrow
A tomorrow when we'd be kickin it high
In a Dallas apartment complex
That tomorrow has you free
That tomorrow doesn't have me here
Drowning in my lack of accomplishments
Suddenly the face in the mirror
Starts to speak, I can't hear
I close my eyes and listen close
Just because I'm not there
Doesn't mean I'm not here
Just because I'm a failure
Doesn't give you the right
To throw away your life
Just waiting for me to return
With tears rolling down your cheek
Wishing I was near hoping I was there
It's time to take your eyes off the mirror
Of what we wanted tomorrow to be
And make that drive to Dallas
And get my apartment ready for me
