Opposites

Contributed by alliecat on Friday, 22nd October 2004 @ 09:30:10 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Is there a relationship between love and hate,
happiness and depression,
rain and shine?

When it rains, does it cause you to notice
just how bright the sun is when the rain and clouds go away?

When you’re depressed, does it cause you to become
even more depressed when you remember how happy you once were?

When you love someone, do you realize how
possible it is that you will end up hating them?

Two things that seem like opposites,
may in fact be one and the same.
View your emotions closely,
hiding nothing from your self.
Don’t lock your emotions inside,
or in a book on a shelf.

Let your emotions escape,
their like a soothing balm to your soul,
it’s the only way to truly learn about yourself,
about who and what you are.

this gives a lot of food for thought..if I might make a tiny suggestion though?..

their like a soothing balm to your soul,

The word their should be they're..the contraction for they are. Hope you don't mind. No one corrects me..well Rita does..and I appreciate it..then I'm not left looking like a ..me. LOL.

This is a good poem.
You really have to think
about it because I don't
know the answers.
