I Wish

Staring at a blank page,
waiting for the words to come,
words that describe my life,
my feelings, my thoughts.
Sometimes I just don’t want to think at all,
I just don’t want to feel.
I just want to be left alone,
alone with my thoughts,
alone with my feelings,
alone with my hurt,
alone with my tears.
I told myself I wouldn’t cry,
not over him, never over him.
I told myself that he wasn’t worth it,
that I was better than that.
But I keep putting myself down,
like everything that happened was all my fault.
I wish he knew how much he hurt me,
I wish he knew how much I care,
I wish he knew how much I love him,
I wish he knew what I feel is rare.
However much I wish,
I know that he’ll never understand,
but still I wish.
