Here, we have a scholar far taught,
One with brains and eyes distraught,
Here, he stares at a book fact-full,
To find the view inevitably dull.
The codes arranged on this here book,
Are streaming lines of scientific term,
And they scream out in horrific drawl,
A language he knows he'll never learn.
But inscribed to the ridges of his brain,
He is aware that these letters he will reign.
Someday, here, he just may discover,
Something other than,
What's underneath this text's cover.
And soon, an inescapable sleep will follow,
A fatigue these numbers have provoked.
Here, in his book, the snores will loudly bellow.
But make no mistake, as a calm esues,
And with no uncertain doubt,
He is surely dreaming of you...
He imagines as the diagrams arise,
And atoms dance around his mind.
They zip around just like flies,
As his dreams begin to coincide.
You are but an electron,
Spining in your orbit freely,
You captivate the world in all your splendid unknowns,
Of which, the Book, fails to define you keenly.
All will stare and contemplate your theme,
Years have passed, and still you are but a mystery.
And in his thoughts, he has vowed to solve you,
But your case is far too deep,
Drowning with turns and twists and clues,
Of track he cannot keep.
You are a novel told without comprehension,
With capturing scenes and complication.
With lines that speak of dreary hollows,
You are a tale, he cannot follow.
And yet, as each day slowly passes,
He still thinks of you in all his static classes.
He aches and desires in all his glory,
For he wants only to know your story.
(And it cannot be held as an untold folly
Or deemed an untruthful wording,
For what you do not know,
Is that this boy... is me.)
