Stem Cell Research (A Body's Own Hell)

Contributed by tifrob on Thursday, 21st October 2004 @ 04:20:26 PM in AEST
Topic: news

Pro-choice ~ Pro-life,
Americans still wage this fight,
Choice is... the way it is,
Life is... easily dismissed,
Babes that die ~ Babes that live,
Is there more that they can give?
If choice is an option... and it is,
A babe’s death must have more to give,
Dying for no reason is a shame,
Purpose in death must be named,
If Stem Cell Research can really help,
Let these babes donate their Stem Cells,
Let science walk down this road,
Discovery may or may not unfold,
To many people lay in their beds,
Silently wishing that they were dead,
Millions confined to chairs on wheels,
Believing that science is their best appeal,
Alzheimer’s patients loosing their past,
Loosing their families ~ their numbers are vast,
Then there are those with Parkinson’s Disease,
They tremble and wobble as all the world sees,
Not to mention the children with cancer inside,
Could they benefit from the babes who die?
Paralyzed thoughts gives way to stagnant growth,
This is something a society must loath,
Back to the babes ~ And to Pro-choice,
It’s time to hear a different noise,
Babes that die ~ And donate their Stem Cells,
Could potentially open ~ A Body’s Own Hell.

Organ farms, blood banks (self-regenerative, with communal heart baths, pumping oxygen and natural electricity into an engineered biological network) and clones, clones clones!! (to quote Ash and Tim Wheeler).

Good write, although the ending is slightly confusing. You make salient points, but spoil it slightly there in your ambiguous conclusion.

Keep writing.
