MR. HATTER...Party of one

Contributed by reprobate on Thursday, 21st October 2004 @ 10:58:54 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

A moment of fear
becomes a minute of hate
A searing pain that stabs 'right here'
causing tearful hours that even a prayer won't abate

Another day of darkness
in the months of a rundown prophet
A flash in dire years of agonized sadness
pushed to the cliff and forcing the jump off it

Time left you behind
while you wrestled with your madness
The age-old battle that's only in your mind
living life's void all the while feigning gladness

What is your seed of discontent
that keeps you lingering on the brink
Why must each breath be that of lament
and you hide your disease with smoke, lies and drink

From the silvered pane
a clock weary visage stares back
No answers to be found within that sad insane
a history ravaged soul now fades finally to black

Interesting write, I like the dark mood of it.
