Two Red Roses

Contributed by sweetansexy on Thursday, 21st October 2004 @ 10:44:27 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

I woke up this morning
Ready to start my day
Fixed the kids their breakfast
Then hurried them on their way

Did the dirty dishes
Left from the night before
Picked up all the clothes
The kids left on the floor

Dragged myself upstairs
And jumped into my clothes
Will I have 5 minutes of peace?
At this point no one knows

The dogs begin to bark
At the postman at the door
If I don’t leave here soon
Ill never be back by four

The schools on the phone
Sarah forgot her lunch
I try to hurry up
As I have no time to crunch

I drop the lunch at school
And make it to the store
I have a big surprise
When I walk in to the door

The dogs got in the garbage
Like they always do
Sometimes I swear I feel
Like I’m living at the zoo

The kids get home from school
It cant be that late already
I haven’t had my breakfast yet
But I guess Ill have spaghetti

You walk through the door
Almost 30 minutes late
I don’t even look up
I put your dinner on your plate

I turn around and see you
With a smile upon your face
Sitting on the table
Are 2 roses at my place

My eyes begin to well up
As I read the card from you
It simply read I Love you
And appreciate what you do

At night as you are holding me
It is plain to see
That even though there’s chaos
There is no place Id rather be
