Just Another Day

Today would’ve been a year
From the day you came into my life
From the day you changed my world
From the day you stole my heart

And I cant help but wonder how things might’ve been if you were still around
I cant help not loving you, even after all the pain you caused me
I cant help but miss you, even though you make my tears flow
I cant help but think about you, and question if maybe youre thinking about me

We had something so wonderful, so perfect
So why did you have to go mess it all up?
We had a connection that nobody could understand, it was just chemistry
So why did you have to walk away?
We had a chance at love, at happiness together
So why did you say what you said and break my heart?

Some things don’t need to be said to be expressed
You showed how much you cared thru actions
Grabbing my hand in public, not afraid to kiss me in front of your friends
The way you held me, when we slept, when we danced
It was as though you didn’t want to let me go

I will never forget your eyes on the day I had to leave
Not knowing that would be our last goodbye
They looked so sad, so lost in a world you didn’t know
Maybe in a world before love?

I can remember everything about all the time we spent together
From the little things like kisses on my forehead, a special smile, or a hypnotized stare
To the big things like public affection in front of your friends, sergeants, and squad members
Not afraid to be seen with me, it was as though you were proud to be with me

But its all over, its been over
Its ancient history in the past
However, its as fresh as day one in my memory
As if it just happened yesterday

I cant believe it would have been a year
A wonderful year at that
But instead its been heartache, tears, and loneliness
Its been frustration, insecurity, and confusion

So today would’ve been a year
From the day you came into my life
From the day you changed my world
From the day you stole my heart

But instead its just another day of unwanted tears
Another day missing you, wanting you, and loving you still
Its just another day without you!
