Have you ever thought?

Have you ever thought?
How it might feel
To be broken of your will
Afraid to think
On your own
Forced to believe what you don’t condone

Have you ever thought?
How it would be like
Being striped of the will to fight
Living a life filled with fear
Wondering if you’ll see another year

Have you ever thought?
What if it was me
Who was striped of liberty
Abused and battered, left to die
While no other nation questioned why

Have you ever thought?
There would came a day
When half America would have its say
That what we’re doing isn’t right
These people’s freedom isn’t worth the fight

Weren’t we all created by God?
Isn’t peace a right for all?
Isn’t it only right to protect the small?
Freedom always conquers hate
What more is there to debate

I agree. Definately a good poem, very powerful and well executed.

While every care is taken to ensure the general sites content is family safe, our moderators cannot be in all places; all the time. Please report poetry and or comments that are in breach of our site rules HERE (Please include poem title or url). Parents also please ensure that you supervise your children well when they are on the internet; regardless of what a site says about being, or being considered, child-safe.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. Â©
