The Right Time for the Wrong Words

I don't feel like talking tonight, I'm tired, so maybe later. I wish I could tell you what was on my mind.
Is there ever the right time for the wrong words? I always find it.
Please don't laugh, I need you to understand right now. I meant what I said, even if you never did. I wish that you could see what I'm feeling. Then maybe you would at least give me a proper burial.
Is there ever the right time for the wrong words? Is that why you only laughed and shook your head?
I wish I would have stayed silent. Such a position you put me in. Always wondering if my heart should speak or die, wondering which would be the wiser choice.
I feel like talking tonight, but you're tired (of me?), so I'll let you sleep somewhere else this time. There's always a time to catch up...
