my views of wars

Contributed by hughie610 on Wednesday, 20th October 2004 @ 08:07:51 AM in AEST
Topic: war

march 14 2004
my veiws of war

in my era boys of 18 or a little more
were conscripted by the goverment to go to war
with very little training for what was ahead
there was no suprise that so many are dead
leaving love ones and friends they never did before
and not knowing the misery and horrors of war
the goverment and media say were winning the war
i ask at what cost i said as i swore
those that return after the fight
are soon fogotten like ships in the night
wars are the result of greed and power
by the rich in there ivory tower
in future if a problem arises look for a solution
and talk until you arrive at a peaceful conclusion

My husband joined the service after September 11th because he thought he needed to serve his country for a just cause. We have come to find out there was none. The military pays for our house, our food, our medical, but he swears if he is ever called to the desert to fight this so called war on terror he will do everything in his power not to go. Now if that is not patriotic then fine. But sending innocent men and women to their death for greed? That is not patriotic! That is immoral. Your poem really fuelled my fire, can ya tell.... Very very good write! Thanks for sharing.

Unforently war is nessecary. Since the beging of time war was a common theme. Today many people don't understand that primal urges must manifest it self. Now we have bigger and better weapons. So people believe war is horrible, not like the era of swords. Today a bullet wound does little, swords are much more effective at wounding. People see war as terrorable because they didn't see it.
